Sarah grew up in rural Northwestern Ohio and first moved to Cincinnati to attend Xavier University. After earning her Bachelor of Science she moved to Dayton to earn her Medical Degree at Wright State University’s Boonshoft School of Medicine and returned to Cincinnati for residency training in family medicine at St. Elizabeth Healthcare. She worked as a family doctor in Northern Kentucky with St. Elizabeth Physicians for 6 years before deciding to take time off to spend with her young children. During her time with St. Elizabeth Physicians she served on several committees including the quality and population health leadership committees.

Sarah resides in Anderson Township with her husband, Dan, and their three children, Owen, Elizabeth, and Alison. All three of their children attend Wilson Elementary. Sarah has spent much of her time helping at Wilson with various activities including leading a Destination Imagination team as well as helping to lead the Wilson Running Club. She also is a co-chair of the Forest Hills 5k, and works as a chairperson for an event founded by her husband in 2018, Bands Against Cancer.
